Post subject:  Thoughts from a potential customer

Hello

I wouldn't normally bother posting but I felt this was close to being a very good game so here are my thoughts as one of six potential customers who will likely not play past day one of our seven day VIP subscription. There are a few reasons none of us could tolerate this game despite enjoying the gameplay and being pleasantly surprised by the graphics.

We had read there was a "pretty harsh cash shop" but thought this would be related to acquiring gear, refining ones build and generally making a character tailored to our various play styles. What we found was that there are in fact zero options for gear; there is a new suit of gear for your class every couple of levels that is ever so slightly better, but never two to choose from. There are thirty skills and thirty levels, you get one skill point per level so we assume you can max all the skills eventually. There are six amulet slots and six different amulets, we assume you cannot equip two of the same and that you must have one of each, except in this case you may only "rent" them, wtf? Ok. Runes! Now here we can customise our characters and choose how we want to be 5-10% better in one specific stat thus rendering us completely unique - sweet. Except you also can only rent these.

Now I know you can craft these items through materials earned in game but for hard working people like ourselves we do not have the time, nor the inclination to "maintain" a set of rented gear. Paying to rent it is rather expensive unless you play religiously to make the most of it, and if you want to rent all the extras you are paying more than most premium games. Long timers to craft in such a simplistic game are also an annoyance and offer no real advantage other than trying to extract more money from people.

The fact that you can only join a game as a group of three people is annoying yet understandable, given how small the player base is, but simply having a "play" button that dumps you in whatever game mode it feels like is really the icing on the cake.

If there is zero character customisation and it's just a pay-to-rent-to-play model can we cut the bullshit and stop pretending? Charge me 5-10 euros a month and design it as a game - not a graphical front end for a cash shop - and I might play it despite the lack of customisation.

I rate this game 2/5 gandalfs as it has potential but is ultimately ruined by terrible design and monetization decisions.

I hope I haven't offended anyone. I would really like to play this game but right now I can't help feeling like I'm being taken for a cunt if I do.

max is lvl 20 atm so you do have to choose your skills well to suit your classes chosen game style...also runes/ammys depend on char (e.g. you can have a health tanks that ofcus on hp using water runes, or you can get dps tanks the focus on the mastery)

Panzar is not p2win. In any way.
The problem is that free to play player will think that he would done better with better equipment. Which is right. You know that you do not have to pay for equipment right ?
The idea if playing against premiums scares them out.
Just separate free-to-play players with premiums.
Lvl 1-20 area is free-to-play and lvl 20-30 premium area.
I think that it would add lot population too.
Just saying.

Im actually surprised you say its not p2w at all, in ANY way. Dude, try playing without premium, and then try to still have your amulets and runes all the time. I guess you should play like 12hrs a day to collect enough materials to make yourself be able to craft the amulets and runes again. No one does play 12hrs a day, so it is p2w to some, even little, degree.

I have premium and manage to get all the runes and amulets I need for the following week in about 10 hours gameplay. Which would suggest that without premium it would take 25ish, so around 3.5 hrs per day, not the 12 you are suggesting. Personally I think that is a bit too high, you should be able to stay competitive with fewer hours than that but that is the price you pay for wanting to play something for nothing. I have seen posts on the steam forum suggesting that they have further updates which will make it easier for free players to keep up with the mats requirement.

And lets be serious here, 30 days premium cost £6, which is hardly going to break the bank here. It is not like you have to spend hundreds to stay competitive.

Okay, exaggerated. But the 3,5 hrs a day is still not a little. Anyways, you admit its p2w even to a small degree. Either you spend all the evening in front of Panzar or you pay not to be forced to do so. Even if it was 1 pound for 30 days premium, its still paying money. We talk about paying or not, not about prices, i guess. Still, i don't say you can't perform good without money. But you really perform better with them. Even if it's 'a bit better'.

No I didnt admit it is p2w, it is a choice, either pay and have to play 1.5 hrs per night, or dont and play 3.5hrs. Players have the choice not to pay but it means they need to dedicate more time to the game. My point about price is that is doesnt cost that much to save the time, either way you still have a choice.

Supporting this thread. Game is too time expensive even with premium account. To get full big runes is the main problem.
